Art, art, art and friends
It was great to see Zoë and Leyli again! And the show at Espai Cenit was interesting.
5 different artists works, all very different, were on display.

We got a tour of the artists studios down stairs and i discovered some interesting new artists and works.
Works by Pedro Almeida
After the exhibition it was time for some tapas and catching up before i headed back to the hotel to rest before the next mornings art adventures.
Michael Lawton at La Capella
The following day i met up with Leyli to go and see Michael Lawtons exhibition at La Capella. The exhibition was poetic and colorful.
La Capella is an exhibition space located in the area of Raval.
It is, as the name suggests, a former chappel built in 1401 and there is no entrance fee.

After the exhibition we headed to a cafe to eat some cake before we met up with Zoë and went to the next exhibition.
More color
The next exhibition was another group show at an artist run space located quite near Park de la ciutadella.
Neil Lorenzos saturated works made my color-junkie heart beat extra fast and made me wish i had more time for art.

In general I find that the most interesting exhibitions are often found in artist-run spaces. Maybe the lack of outside funding gives more freedom to display even controversial works and to make braver exhibitions.
During the evening i cought my self wishing that my spanish would better so i could follow and participate in the conversations going on between the gallery visitors.. Need to add that on the todo list 🙂
