On the search for summery plates with patterns!

Hello friends! So far, the blog has been a pure travel blog where I talk about our travels and excursions to and in different countries. And I have written about amazing interiors that we´ve come across, such as the Toiletpaper loft in Milan or when I enjoyed a afternoon tea at the NoMad hotel in London, but I have not written any posts solemnly dedicated to interior design.
But that is going to change now!

It all started with us finding these cute plates at Flying Tiger today. I have been looking for fun porcelain for a long time, and since I love color and flowers AND they only cost 30 kr each (approx 2.7 Euro), they got to go home with me!

It’s been kind of impossible to find fun and colorful porcelain in Sweden, at least if you don’t want to pay 600 SEK or more per plate and also want them to be able to survive the dishwasher and microwave without becoming ugly straight away. But now it seems like more and more fun colorful porcelain is popping up everywhere!

Patterned summer plates

Our porcelain is super mismatched because I originally went for porcelain with a yellow theme, but then I’ve still bought blue plates and floral plates and things that you can’t put in the microwave and ended up with a lot of other unnecessary but nice things from the second hand stores 😀

Our mismatched china

So now that I found these fun plates at Flying Tiger, I’ve been googling fun porcelain so that I can find plates to combine with this find!

Taika sato from Iittala

I like the colors of these folklore inspired plates by designer Klaus Haapaniemi, whose magical shop we ran into while visiting Helsinki.

Magnor Florytale

Or what about a plate with a large iris! These are designed by Anna Handell and Finn Schjøll. Anna Handell is a Swedish artist and Finn is one of Norway’s most famous flower decorators.

Amazonia Anmut from Villeroy & Bosch

And then we have a classic Villeroy & Boch. This plate is called Amazonia Anmut. I also found it on Kockens redskap.

Everyday Plate by Jesper Bergstrand

This plate is like a modern work of art, the question is whether you dare to eat from it or whether you should save it in the basement in case the artist becomes famous and the plate becomes very valuable! You can find the Everyday Plate at Cay Collective.

Gioelli from Modigliani

This plate looks like an abstract work of art, so it’s very fitting that the company that made it is called Modigliani (like the artist)

Now all we need is a decision – yellow theme? or blue? or maybe pink? What do you think? How does your china look?
